Wimborne – Hidden Leak Within Floor Screed Causing Internal Damp

This property was experiencing persistent damp affecting internal areas including the bedroom, hallway and kitchen. EX10 carried out a detailed damp survey and further investigation, which eventually identified the underlying cause as rusting and leaking pipework concealed within the floor screed. Once the source had been correctly diagnosed, the necessary remedial work could be carried out rather than applying unnecessary damp-proofing treatments to the walls. This case study demonstrates the importance of thorough investigation when the visible damp symptoms do not immediately reveal the true source of moisture.
