Lytchett Minster – Cold Bridging, Missing Insulation & Mould Remediation

Recurring black mould had developed within a child’s bedroom, particularly around a cold corner, with further mould-related issues affecting the bathroom and ceiling areas. Investigation identified unusually cold surfaces and, once areas were opened, missing or inadequate insulation was discovered above sections of the bedroom and bathroom. EX10 professionally cleaned and treated the mould, improved the insulation, opened and rebuilt affected ceiling areas, installed appropriate insulated-backed board and completed plastering and skimming. This project is a strong example of recurring mould being caused by cold bridging and poor thermal performance rather than simply moisture entering through the wall.
